Peacock Casserole

Description

Woodfired in an anagama kiln to cone 13, this casserole measures 9" tall and 13" long and 7.5" wide. It is made using Jack Troy Anagama clay.

A variety of hand building techniques were used to alter this wheel-thrown vessel into the Peacock you see here. Glazed on the interior with Maria's Oribe, many different coloured slips were used on the outside and highlighted with Oribe and Water Blue. Although it is functional, the artist recommends careful handling if it is to be used, and feels this piece would be best appreciated as the sculptural art it really is. This vessel is sold ($268), but the artist is happy to take commissions for similar vessels.
