Oxen Mugs, Series 2

Woodfired in an anagama kiln to cone 13, these mugs measure about 3" wide, 3" deep and 4" high. They are made using Jack Troy Anagama clay.

These square mugs were made in a series using three different breeds of oxen including (from left to right) Ayrshire, Milkin Shorthorn and Hereford. The oxen wrap around the square sides of the mugs and are painted with coloured slips and the interiors and handles are glazed with Dever's Shino or Old Yellow. These mugs are made in multiples, however no two are exactly alike, with differences in colour and in the hand painted oxen. These mugs are for sale at $25 plus shipping.
